November 08, 2023: Mr. Ajit Gulabchand, Chairman and Mr. Arjun Dhawan, Vice Chairman of HCC, had a meeting with His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, the King of Bhutan, in Mumbai on 8 November 2023 to discuss the current engagements of the Company in Bhutan and to explore future opportunities.

HCC has built several landmark infrastructure projects in Bhutan. The Company’s association with Bhutan started in 1998 when it was awarded two contracts to construct the Kurichu and Tala hydropower projects. Since then, the Company has been involved in constructing the Dagachhu and Punatsangchhu hydropower projects and is currently building the Nikachhu hydropower project.

Sustainability has been an intrinsic focus of HCC during the construction of these infrastructure projects, and the Company has taken various initiatives of water conservation, health & sanitation, drinking Water supply to the local community and schools, support for communal peace & harmony and skills development for youth.

The Chairman and Vice Chairman reiterated HCC’s commitment to Bhutan’s infrastructure and contributing to the country’s overall development.
