Santosh Rai is Operations Director and Chief Business Officer (CBO) at HCC. He serves on board of HCC Infrastructure Company Limited. He is also a valued member of the Board of Governors at NICMAR University.
With over 23 years of experience in the construction sector, Mr. Rai specialises in business development, construction management, and the planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects. He currently drives company revenue through strategic order acquisition and oversees the business operations within his portfolio.
Mr. Rai began his career in 2001 as a Site Engineer on the Delhi Metro Rail Project, later taking charge of the planning and construction of a significant elevated road corridor in New Delhi from 2002 to 2005.
In April 2005, he joined HCC as a Planning Engineer for the landmark Bandra-Worli Sea Link project, where he played a pivotal role in the planning and construction of India’s first cable-stayed bridges in open seas. His extraordinary contributions earned him a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ from the Government of Maharashtra, recognizing his role in this engineering marvel.
For his outstanding performance, Mr. Rai received Excellence Awards in consecutive financial years: 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kuvempu University, Karnataka, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Construction Management from the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), Pune.
