November 19, 2024: THDCIL, in collaboration with HCC and consortium partner GEPIL, has reached another significant milestone on November 19, 2024. The first unit (unit #5) of the Tehri Pumped Storage Project (4x250 MW) has been successfully synchronized with the grid, marking a notable achievement. Tehri PSP is now integrated with the National Grid and stands as the country’s inaugural pumped storage project featuring variable speed turbines. The event was attended by the CMD of THDCIL, the ED of THDCIL, and other officials from THDCIL, GE, and HCC. Additionally, the Power Secretary and CMD of NTPC extended their congratulations to the entire TEHRI PSP team via video call.
